While filming in Nepal for his forthcoming documentary Himalaya, Michael had a very close call!! Read about what happened here. In Eric news, sadly some itineraries for his tour have been cancelled, among those the Portland, ME and Long Island, NY dates. Apologies to all those who will be missing out (myself included...sigh). Lots of news!! Firstly, a revamped re-packaging of the Holy Grail Special Edition DVD is due out in stores on Tuesday, September 16th (in US and Canada, at least, hopefully soon elsewhere?). Not only does it include a nice new package, but also a limited edition 35 mm cell from the film and a copy of the screenplay. Secondly, some tour dates and itineraries have been announced for Eric's Greedy Ba$tard Tour! Go here for the full story! Thirdly, there is a musical based on Holy Grail in the works, due out on stage on Broadway in Spring 2005, entitled Spamalot. Music and lyrics by Eric, along with John Du Prez! Go here for details. And finally, Michael is... well...somewhere in Asia at the moment...but here is a small article in which he is interviewed about traveling in Pakistan (thanks for finding this, Marie!).

Monty Python's The Meaning of Life is scheduled to be released as a special edition DVD on September 2nd. It will supposedly be jam-packed with lots of wonderful extras in the tradition of the Holy Grail special edition DVD. See PythOnline's Daily Llama for more info. Also, a nice site has been set up in honor of the DVD release, where you can enter a contest to win the DVD autographed by John Cleese (okay, so it's not by Michael or Eric, but hey it's free anyway!). Around the World in 80 Days continues on Bravo next week in the U.S. (7 pm Eastern). In Eric news, it appears that he only has a very bit part in the new movie Hollywood Homicide. If anyone has seen the movie yet, please share your thoughts.

Michael will be appearing a documentary called Michael Palin and the ladies who loves Matisse. It's about 2 Victorian sisters who amassed one of the world's most valuable art collections. It airs on BBC1 at 10.40pm, though times may vary. (thanks to CaterpillarGirl59 for the info!)

For west-coast Eric fans: on Thursday, April 17th, Eric will be signing copies of "The Rutland Isles" CD at the Virgin Megastore on Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles. Here is a message from Eric himself:

This Sunday (March 30) Eric will be voicing a character on The Simpsons episode entitled "Scuse Me While I Miss the Sky". If you can, be sure to tune in! Not actual Mike or Eric news, but somewhat related: Diamond Select Toys is going to be releasing a set of Holy Grail figures later on this year. Not much detailed information has been given, but supposedly there will be two series of the figures, of which both Sir Robin and Sir Galahad will be part of. Hopefully, they will capture Eric and Michael's likenesses better than the Sideshow Toy figures. ;) See Raving Toy Maniac's site for more details. As always, we will keep you informed on any further updates.

Eric's new comedy CD, "The Rutland Isles", is available for preorder here. The CD is due out in March. See Pythonline's Daily Llama for a short history of the project, as well as details on the Rutland Isles contest, where you just might win a signed Rutland Isles calendar, or something even more exciting (so exciting, we can't mention it here)!

According to a source at PythOnline, Michael's mini book tour of the U.S. this April will include the cities of Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, and New York. Hopefully this is just a partial list. When more information becomes available we will post it here.

The site now has a new messageboard for the third time. The one I had on wwwtoolz was nice, but I haven't been able to access it for more than a week now. It doesn't seem to be very reliable, so I have set up a brand-spanking new one which you can access via the homepage. Hopefully this one will be more reliable. Please post (or email) your comments.

Two new pics have been added to the "Fun Stuff" section of Mike and Eric pics, two sketches of Michael by the talented Rose. Check them out! Also, I am in the process of uploading Jabberwocky pictures. The main Jabberwocky page has been added, but the galleries are not up yet. I hope to have them added by this weekend.

Two Halloween-themed wallpapers have been added to the Fun Stuff page of Mike and Eric Pics. Once again I apologize for seemingly letting the site go to pot for a while, but I've been more busy than a person should be, working on my thesis (which I just defended successfully on Monday, yay!), and I'm only just now recovering from illness. More pics will be going up soon, I promise!

The Eric Pics page has been redesigned. The menu on the left side looks a bit shabby, I apologize as it's my first time trying anything like this. Hopefully it's an improvement over the old page. Right now only the Flying Circus, And Now For Something Completely Different, and Holy Grail sections are up. The others will be up soon. I've also added Eric pics from Flying Circus episodes 29, 30 and 31. Enjoy!

A Ripping Yarns page has just been added to the Mike pics section. Right now all I have up are pictures from Tomkinson's Schooldays (thanks again, Rose!!), but I will add some from the other episodes eventually. A new "Thank-You's" page has also been added, to give credit to all you fine folks who have contributed something to the site, whether it be pictures, fanfics, silly essays. You guys made this site happen, and I thank you for it!

A Life of Brian page has been added to the Mike pics section. So far there are screenshots from the film and from "The Pythons" documentary up there. Photos of Michael from the film and from the deleted scenes will be forthcoming. I've also redesigned the main Mike Pics page, since it was getting a bit too complicated to re-do the old image map everytime I'd add something new. Out of everything on that page, the only links that work are "How to Irritate People", "Flying Circus", "Holy Grail", and "Life of Brian", just so you know in case you try any of the others and get a "page not found" message. I will be adding the others as time warrants (and the Eric Pics main page will be redone in the same fashion, one of these days). If some of the Mike pics from Flying Circus aren't coming up, it's because I'm changing the html for those pages. A few people have told me that they cannot see the pics, and I realized it was a little html problem in the picture galleries. It's being corrected, and I hope to have them all corrected soon. In the meantime I appreciate your patience. :)

At long last, the Flying Circus page in the Eric Pics section has been updated! Eric pics from Flying Circus episodes 40 (Golden Age of Ballooning), 41 (Michael Ellis), and 2 (Sex and Violence) have been added. More to come in the future. Sorry for the delay! A cute little Eric animation has also been added to the Fun Stuff page of the Eric and Mike Pics section.

The Holy Grail section of the Mike Pics has been completely redone. It's been broken up into sections including Holy Grail screenshots, Quest for the Holy Grail Locations, BBC Film Night On-Location, How To Use Your Coconuts, and Photos. All of the pics are now up except for the How To Use Your Coconuts pics, which should be up within the next week or so. More pics will be added to the Eric Holy Grail pics as well, and Life of Brian pics for both will also be added soon.

More updates...Mike pics from both German episodes of Flying Circus have been added, as well as Eric pics, and Mike and Eric pics from German episode #2. I've finally added a page for Mike and Eric pics from Flying Circus (which is where you will find those from the German eps). I've also added a cute little animation from the Bavarian Restaurant sketch. You can find it on the Fun Stuff page. More to come soon.

First major update in a whole month, sorry for the delay!! Mike pictures from Fliegender Zirkus Zwei (the second German episode) are now up, as well as some pictures from his appearance on "Friday Night, Saturday Morning" in 1979. More Eric pictures to come in the next few days.

It has a bit of a story behind it so if you're confused when you read it, ask at the message board and I'll be happy to fill you in. ;) A new wallpaper was also added to the Fun Stuff page ("Sir Galahad Wallpaper #3"). A new link has been added to the Mike Sightings page. Read all about Krissy's wonderful encounter with Michael at a book-signing in Toronto! A link has also been added near the top of the homepage for those who would like the less-picture-laden, faster-loading experience that is the alternate homepage. Since we didn't get much feedback on this at the Message Board, I thought it was a fair compromise. Look for more Mike pics and Eric pics soon.

Mike pics from Flying Circus episodes 39 and 40 (The Golden Age of Ballooning) have been added. Mike pics from all of season 3 are now up with more pics to come soon. Also, a new page for Mike Sightings has been added. Here you will find stories (some with pictures) given to us by generous Palin fans, telling all about their experiences of meeting Mike. If you have a story you'd like to share, please email us and we'll add it to the page. A similar page for Eric will be forthcoming, as long as we have people with stories they'd like to contribute. Finally, a new version of the homepage has been created to cut down on some of the clutter on the current one. You'll find it here. Please post your opinions on the message board whether you'd like it to replace the current board or not, or simply send us an email.

In other news, I am toying with the idea of starting a mailing list, where those who sign up will receive weekly/biweekly/monthly/bimonthly/you get the idea, updates not just on the site, but on our two lovely boys as well. Happy New Year, fellow Palin and Idle worshippers! Both Mike pics and Eric pics from And Now For Something Completely Different have been added, as well as pics from episode 19 of Flying Circus (for both Mike and Eric). More pics to some soon. Part 2 of Meredith's lovely "The Man In White" Mike fanfic is now up (read it, you won't be disappointed!). Mike's real biography has also been added, along with a "Palinography" of books, movies and television shows he's written/contributed to. The films/shows which can be purchased have links to their entries on the Internet Movie Database, where you may find a link to purchase the video/DVD from Amazon.com. Eric's real bio should be finished soon.
