Guest Appearances

On this page you will find a collection of pics of Mike from various shows and venues in which he's made guest appearances. Apologies in advance for the substandard quality on some of these! For more pics, please see the Michael Palin Unofficial Appreciation Page (link is on our Mike and Eric Links page).
Python visit to KERA Dallas In the spring of 1975, Mike (along with Terry Jones, Terry Gilliam and Graham Chapman) were touring America, promoting Flying Circus on television there. During this time they visited PBS stations across the country, including this one in Dallas, Texas. Michael plays with a stuffed armadillo given to him by a fan.
Pythons on AM America The Pythons visited America again from late April-May 1975 when Holy Grail was first premiering there. On Friday, April 25th, they co-hosted (more or less) AM America, a precursor of sorts to Good Morning America. Mike mentions (along with Eric, Graham, Terry J and Terry G) some news headlines of the day and gives a shout out to a friend of his.
Saturday Night Live: April 8, 1978 Sorry, page not up yet. Coming soon!
Saturday Night Live: January 27, 1979 Mike starts off the show with a monologue about his socks...something about an allergy to wool. It was a great episode (obviously), Mike was extraordinarily cute and participated in some hilarious sketches, including "What If..?" about Superman living in Nazi Germany, and "The Nerds" in which he reprises his role as the randy piano teacher, Mr. Brighton.
Friday Night, Saturday Morning: November 9, 1979 Michael and John appeared on this show with Malcolm Muggeridge and...er...locked horns over Life of Brian. Even though it may not seem like it from these pictures, Michael became quite irate (for Michael, anyway!).
Parkinson: Autumn, 2002 Michael appeared on this show to chat about a variety of things, including his Sahara tour. Thanks to my friend Jess P. for these pics!
The South Bank Show: October, 1991 Michael made a short guest appearance on this documentary of sorts featuring Terry Gilliam and his various films, some of which Michael appeared in. A nice little conversation took place with some rather not nice teasing. ;)
